Warping from the Front of the Loom, Part Three: Winding On the WarpA well-wound warp has two requirements. First, all threads must stay equal in length throughout the layers wound onto the warp beam. Second, the warp must be wound on as least as tight as the tension you set each time you bring the warp forward to weave.
